Just for those who get it. Fake Society Studio is gym and running wear made in Tirupur, started by three students in Bangalore.
How this started
We're three students at Mesa School of Business. One of us trains every single day. One of us had just moved to Bangalore. All of us kept running into the same problem: the gym wear we actually wanted to wear came with a big-brand price tag, and the cheaper stuff didn't survive a month.
So we found a manufacturer in Tirupur and wrote our own tech packs, down to the collar rib and the stitching on the hem. Fake Society Studio is what came out of that.
The name is a bit of a dare. So much of what we see online is fake: filtered bodies, borrowed flexes, logos doing all the work. We'd rather make something real and let the people who get it find us.

India's knitwear capital. Every piece is made there from our own tech packs. This is what's in them.
- Training tees & shorts
- 95% polyester, 5% elastaneStretchy, quick to dry, and it gets its shape back after you've pulled it around all session.
- Crewnecks & track pants
- 70% cotton, 30% polyesterMostly cotton so it feels soft, with some polyester so it doesn't shrink or sag after a few washes.
- Collar
- 1×1 ribTight rib so the neck doesn't go wavy after a month.
- Hems
- 2 cm, double-needle stitchedTwo rows of stitching in matching thread on the sleeves and bottom.
- Label
- Woven, not printedIt won't crack or peel off in the wash.
- Screen-printed

Hide what it's made of.
The exact fabric blend is on every product page. If it's 70% cotton, we say 70% cotton.

Make a mountain of stock.
Our first run is small on purpose. We'd rather sell out and make the next batch better.
